For this post, we go back almost 4 years to a set of photos featuring the Dollyrots at the NYCB Theater in Westbury, N.Y. on June 7th, 2011.The Dollyrots opened for the Go-Go’s on the east coast leg of their Ladies Gone Wild tour with Chris Black in the drummer’s chair. The NYCB Theater was originally known as the Westbury Music Fair and has a revolving stage, but for this show, the stage remained stationary. Included are a couple of shots of the Dollyrots joining the Go-Go’s on stage dancing to “We Got the Beat” at the close of the evening (note Belinda’s bare feet!). Shot on a Nikon D3 with the 70-200mm f2.8.
Sometimes while perusing my files, I come across a couple of interesting (at least to me) alternate shots which have never been circulated. Here, presented on Jane Wiedlin’s birthday, are two shots of the Go-Go’s at the Lumiere in St. Louis in 2008. The silhouette of Jane Wiedlin is the companion to another shot which has already been released and is one of my favorites. The fisheye was taken with the Nikon DX fisheye (using the in-camera format crop); the lens has since been replaced by the full frame fisheye. The silhouette was shot on the 70-200mm F2.8. Both were taken with the Nikon D3 and shot in RAW with minor cleanup in PS.
Welcome to AGN Photo, a collection of my photography throughout the years. The blog will contain mostly live concert photography (and mostly Go-Go’s) but also some other styles and subjects. A lot of these photos have already made their way out onto the web, but I hope to publish some outtakes which I enjoy personally and I hope you will as well.
The first post includes photos of my talented pal Jane Wiedlin in concert with The Go-Go’s. These photos were recently pulled from the files for a project and I thought that they would be a perfect way to kick off the blog. She is a particular fan of the HOB “Hello Kitty cap” image and has used it for the recent Go-Go’s tour mat, the all-access pass laminate, a cd insert and a banner.
Photographs taken with a Nikon D3 and 70-200 f2.8.
Thanks for looking!
